Pau to Tottenham today?

Pau Lopez could get his move from Espanyol to Tottenham Hotspur today after the Premier League club met Los Periquitos’ demands.

AS reports that Pau trained with his teammates yesterday but it’s expected that he will have only one more session under Quique Sanchez Flores before switching to White Hart Lane.

It’s said that Spurs stepped up their interest and will pat €600,000 to take the goalkeeper for the season with a €7m fee agreed if they want to make the arrangement a permanent one, and Espanyol also want to include a clause that says Tottenham have to pay compensation to Espanyol if they don’t exercise that right.

Espanyol are meanwhile in the hunt for Monaco’s Marcel Tisserand, though the defender is named in the squad to play Villarreal on Tuesday even as a €5m, rising to €6m, transfer is mooted.

It’s feared at Cornella-El Prat though that Tisserand has decided he wants to remain in Ligue 1, putting St Etienne in the driving seat.

Espanyol have also been offered Real Zaragoza’s Leandro Cabrera, the defender desperate to play in the top flight, but even though he would cost only €1m – Cabrera has a €2m clause but owns 50% of the contract himself and would give it up for a Primera move – the Catalans aren’t interested as they’re looking at other options.
