Atletico Madrid have reportedly offered €20m for Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa, who is known as Gabigol or Gabriel.
The 19-year-old’s agent Wagner Ribeiro revealed to UOL that the figure put on the table by the Spanish giants matches that of Juventus after the Italians tried to lure him to Serie A.
Gabigol is one of the most coveted young strikers on the market and both Inter Milan and Leicester City have asked about him, the latter having reportedly told the Brazilian club they would be willing to pay €27m.
Santos insist they know nothing of any formal offer, although they acknowledge talks have taken place with Atleti regarding future projects, but Ribeiro says any decision regarding the player will not be made until after his participation in the Rio Olympics.
One stumbling block could be that Barcelona are believed to have first refusal on the player, as stipulated in the contract signed when they brought Neymar to the Camp Nou.
