Celta want Rafinha return?

Celta Vigo hope to convince Barcelona to let Rafinha go with an offer of €10m and a repurchase agreement, reports claim.

Sport says the Celta President, Carlos Mourino, has reached out to Rafinha’s father, former Brazil international Mazinho, who is also his son’s representative, and he has given the go-ahead for the approach.

It’s felt that with Andre Gomes adding to a midfield already containing Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, Arda Turan and Sergi Roberto, Rafinha could struggle for playing time at Camp Nou in the coming season.

Rafinha was previously on the books at Balaidos on loan from Barca in the 2013-14 season, under the command of Luis Enrique, and Rafinha remains one of the favourites of the Barca Coach, Sport notes.

Reaching a deal with Barca for Rafinha may not be easy either as his contract calls for a release fee of €75m and he is paid some €2m per season, out of reach at Celta, but the hope is that €10m and the guarantee Barca could buy Rafinha back will talk the Catalans into selling.
