Cholo eyes England, Italy

Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone admits he would one day like to experience life as a Coach in the Premier League and Serie A, and talks Antoine Griezmann.

Cholo was speaking at a Press conference prior to a friendly in Australia and as well as revealing his state of mind after losing the Champions League Final, touched on future assignments.

“Clearly, I’m a young Coach and football will take me to new desires, new challenges, and both the English League and the Italian League attract me,” he confirmed, AS reports, before addressing rumours of the Argentina bench.

“So far no one has coached a club and the Argentina team. But in the future it would be a possibility. A lot of coaches would like to do so but can’t because of their contracts with their clubs. Is it viable? Eventually, it’d be possible.”

Simeone also commended Griezmann, who starred for France at Euro 2016 and backed him for further success.

“He’s one of the best three players in Europe for me, and a candidate for the Ballon d’Or, which he can win. He scores decisive goals and scores regularly. Hopefully he has the chance to win the Ballon d’Or,” he added.
