Adriano is essentially a Besiktas player but confirmation of his move from Barcelona has been delayed with two reasons suggested.
Sport reports that the word in Turkey is that the announcement has been held off possibly because Besiktas President Fikret Orman is in Brazil, and he wants to be part of the presentation.
Another suggestion is that for tax reasons it is preferable to Adriano and Besiktas that the defender’s contract not come into effect until August 1, and once that date has been passed, he’ll sign the deal and officially leave Camp Nou.
