Former Barcelona forward Rivaldo believes compatriot Neymar will soon overtake Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s best player.
Rivaldo, who represented the Catalans between 1997 and 2002, believes Messi and Ronaldo are a class apart as things stand, but won’t be for long.
“Now the best are still Messi and Ronaldo, but I think very soon Neymar will be the best player,” he said, Mundo Deportivo reports.
Rivaldo added that he hopes to see Barcelona maintain the style of play that has delivered success in recent seasons, citing what it means to the fans to see the football on display.
“Barca is a great team and for five or six years their football has made people very happy. All the fans like and admire it and I hope they continue like this,” he said.
