Lucas Perez ‘waiting for Barca’

Deportivo La Coruna forward Lucas Perez is said to be ‘waiting for Barcelona’s call’ and would cost €20m.

Sport claims Perez is the third choice to reinforce the Catalans’ attack behind Kevin Gameiro and Luciano Vietto and with both players looking bound for elsewhere – Gameiro to Atletico Madrid, Vietto to Sevilla – he is on the agenda, though other reports name Carlos Bacca.

Perez is said to be keen to go to Camp Nou, though Deportivo President, Tino Fernandez, insisted recently that no approach has been made for the 27-year-old.

“Lucas is a Deportivo player. We have no intention for him not to be. We know the market is in charge and if someone pays the €20m clause, he can leave,” Fernandez acknowledged.

Sport suggests that amount is within Barca’s budget and that talks between Barca and Perez began a month ago, with the player now waiting for Barca to go to the next stage, although Sevilla could be interested as well if they lose Gameiro but don’t get Vietto.
