Ayestaran ‘prepared not to have Gomes’

Valencia Coach Pako Ayestaran admits he is preparing for a future without Real Madrid target Andre Gomes.

Gomes has been touted as Los Blancos’ primary objective for the summer transfer market and speaking after a 4-2 win over German opposition Munster in a pre-season friendly, Ayestaran conceded the Portugal international could leave Mestalla.

“We have no control over what can happen in the market, so I am as prepared to have Gomes and not to have him,” AS quotes Ayestaran as saying.

The Coach added that he wasn’t entirely happy with what he saw from his players in their first pre-season friendly.

“I didn’t like that game. We improved in the second half but we have things to work on, and that’s why we’re in pre-season,” he noted.
