Ronaldo pushing for Super Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo is doing everything he can to be fit to play Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup in August and has a personal fitness trainer with him on holiday.

AS reports Ronaldo is on a break in Ibiza after Portugal’s successful Euro 2016 but after the forward’s final ended early with a knee ligament injury, he’s not expected to be fit to play Los Rojiblancos in the season curtain-raiser.

But Ronaldo isn’t accepting the diagnosis and is working to give himself every chance of playing in the game, even though it was expected he’d need six weeks to recover, making the August 9 fixture unlikely.

Ronaldo is also attending a clinic in Ibiza to have treatment in a hyperbaric chamber and has Madrid’s agreement to push himself so hard as both he and the club want him involved if possible in the fixture to decide the first trophy of the season.

The last word though will be with Zinedine Zidane and he has said he won’t risk unfit players, something Ronaldo discovered when he was left out for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City.
