Sevilla ‘closer to Vietto’

Sevilla have reportedly moved closer to getting Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid, ahead of Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo reports Los Rojiblancos have nearly come to terms with Los Colchoneros and are offering a deal that La Blaugrana won’t, the inclusion of a buy-back option.

Barca’s bid hasn’t included the chance for Atleti to re-sign Vietto in the future but the player wants to go to Camp Nou and play with Lionel Messi, though he could be tempted by more minutes at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and the chance to work under Jorge Sampaoli.

Vietto and his agent, Jorge Czysterpiller will on Tuesday meet to discuss the offers made and if they still prefer the one from Catalonia, then it could force Atletico’s hand into accepting the approach from Barca.

Barca want a signing made this week so the newcomer can be with the rest of the squad for pre-season training in England, and the intention remains to get a young player who can develop and support the existing squad, in the vein of Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne.
