Barca give up on Gabriel Jesus?

Barcelona have reportedly given up their push for Gabriel Jesus, clearing the way for Real Madrid to take the Brazilian starlet.

Marca reports Los Blancos are looking at paying €30m for the forward after his club, Palmeiras, rejected approaches around €20m.

Alexandre Matos, Palmeiras’ general manager, has been in Madrid to meet with his equivalents at Madrid in an effort to unlock the impasse regarding the 19-year-old, and his visit has laid the foundations to take Gabriel to Santiago Bernabeu.

Barca have moved their attention elsewhere, though Manchester City and Inter are both still interested, but Madrid want to get the deal done before the Olympic Games, so he can’t be tempted to go elsewhere.

Gabriel's idea is to stay in Brazil unto the winter of 2017 and then move to La Liga and Madrid are on board with that suggestion, and Madrid have also been in touch with Giovanni Branchini, the player’s European representative, and Marcelo Pettinatti, who is his representative in Brazil.
