Luciano Vietto wants to join Barcelona and the Catalans are to sit down with Atletico Madrid to thrash out an agreement.
Mundo Deportivo reports Barca have been in regular contact with Vietto’s agent, Jorge Czyterspiller, and a deal with Atletico could be reached in the next few days to allow Vietto to become Barca’s fourth summer signing, after Denis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne.
The structure of the move is up in the air, though, as a loan with a permanent option is a possibility while if the deal takes Vietto to Camp Nou permanently right away, Atletico want to recoup the €20m they paid Villarreal a year ago.
But Vietto wants to go to Barca to play with Lionel Messi, Barca want him to bolster their attack and be a long-term option, and Atletico are happy to let the Argentina international go, so an agreement is expected to be reached.
