Espanyol have confirmed interest in signing Pablo Piatti from Valencia and the midfielder could be interested as well.
Super Deporte quotes the Espanyol sporting director, Angel Gomez, as explaining why Los Periquitos are keen on the 27-year-old, who has fallen foul of the Valencia fans and was the subject of whistles when he left the field injured in the final League game of last season.
“He has a lot of experience, he’s suffered for a lot of seasons and he needs tranquillity,” Gomez is reported as saying.
It’s felt that Piatti would be open to the move and the chance to rebuild his career at Cornella-El Prat, under Quique Sanchez Flores, and negotiations between the clubs have started.
