Espanyol confirm Reyes capture

Jose Antonio Reyes has agreed a two-year contract with Espanyol after his contract at Sevilla expired.

Reyes becomes the Catalan club’s second signing of the summer following the capture of goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez from Olympiacos, with Los Pericos’ official website confirming Reyes’ contract is structured as an initial one-year deal with the second year optional.

The 32-year-old also represented Arsenal, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Benfica prior to signing on at Cornella-El Prat, and had two spells at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Reyes will officially sign for Espanyol after concluding medical tests and should be presented on Wednesday afternoon.
