Pellegrino wants Alaves ‘giving everything’

Mauricio Pellegrino has outlined the Alaves he hopes to build after being confirmed as Coach of La Liga’s new boys.

Pellegrino, a former Alaves player, was appointed to replace Jose Bordalas, who took the team to promotion but was let go earlier in June.

“I’ve always sought a challenge to grow as an athlete and that’s why I’m here. Together we will try to lay the foundation to keep the team in the Primera. It’s a difficult but very nice project. We have a task ahead of ourselves to form the squad,” Pellegrino said, AS reports.

“There are a lot of players on the market. We have to assess the options we have, the passports and the quotas. I want committed players, who come to Alaves and leave everything on the pitch.

“Football is not divided by defence or attack, they are permanent things in football. I’m an offensive Coach when we attack and defensive when we don’t have the ball.”
