Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to the striker’s father.
Aubameyang has become one of Europe’s most in-demand players after scoring 39 goals for Dortmund last season, and Pierre-Francois admits his son’s exploits have not gone unnoticed in his motherland.
“Interest from Atletico? Yes, and many other teams…” he told AS.
“He’s contracted with Borussia for four more years so we mustn’t speak about it, but of course [teams] are watching him for what he did last season.”
The player was then asked about whether a move to Spain was on the cards, having admitted it was a “dream” on Thursday, but simply replied: “I don’t know. We’ll see…
“[On the Champions League final], it was exciting, the two teams played a great match.”
