Nolito: Better to lose today…

Nolito will take Spain losing to Croatia if it means they beat Italy and says La Roja should proceed without fear.

Spain slipped to second in Group D by virtue of the late reverse and now play the Azzurri in the Round of 16 in what on paper is the more difficult half of the draw.

“Nobody like to lose. It was a game where we were in control but they have scored the second goal. Now we go forward, we can’t be afraid, we’ll compete and see what happens,” the Celta Vigo forward said, AS reports.

“We’ve lost, we go forward, forget what happened. We’re in the next round, and you’re going to play strong opponents. We have to correct the mistakes and prepare for the game on Monday.

“These things happen. We won two games and everything was rosy, but nothing happens. We have to prepare for the game and see how it goes. Better to lose today than Monday.

“Italy is a tough opponent. It’s a tough draw. We have a good team and you have to compete with the best if you want to do something in the tournament.”
