Iniesta: ‘No thoughts on Barca role’

Andres Iniesta insists he has not given any thought to one day becoming the Coach of Barcelona.

The 32-year-old Spain international, who has been arguably the stand-out performer so far at Euro 2016, gave an exclusive interview to SPORT in which he revealed details of his career, including his future at the Camp Nou.

“As a player there is no doubt I want to stay at Barca, that’s what I want, but from there we’ll see where life takes me,” said Iniesta.

“Becoming Barca Coach has not crossed my mind, that’s the reality, and it’s something that, for now, I can’t comment on.

“I find it difficult to look too far ahead as I want to enjoy what time I have left playing because that’s what makes me happy.”

Iniesta also spoke about former boss Pep Guardiola as he prepares for life in the Premier League with Manchester City, who he feels will benefit from the Catalan’s arrival.

“I know Guardiola will try new things at Manchester City. I’ve played under him and know how it is. City will be getting a great Coach.

“Pep is one of the best coaches in the world and will be in charge of a team that will be fighting for all titles,” he concluded.
