Bacca promises Sevilla return

Former Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca insists that one day he will return to Sevilla, after being sold to Milan for €30m just 12 months ago.

The Colombian striker, who notched 34 goals in 72 La Liga appearances for the Andalusians between 2013 and 2015, told Marca he has not ruled out a return to the Sanchez Pizjuan despite not regretting the decision to try his luck in Serie A.

“I’ve already spoken to [director of football] Monchi and the President, with whom I still have an excellent relationship,” admitted the 29-year-old.

“With God’s help I’d like to go back there one day because I know that at Sevilla the door is always open for me. I’m sure I’ll return one day.

“However, I’ve never regretted my decision to leave because I made it with great confidence. It was a step I wanted to take so I could continue to grow as a player. Besides, Milan’s project excited me.

“In any case, we all know that Sevilla have to sell players every year and it was my turn. The supporters understand that.

“I spent my best years there and although I’ve scored 20 goals in Italy I don’t feel as though I’ve played at my best level,” said Bacca.
