Candreva to snub Atletico

Lazio winger Antonio Candreva is set to snub a move to Atletico Madrid after his agent confirmed his immediate future lies in Italy.

The 29-year-old shone in Serie A last season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 30 appearances, and has repeatedly been linked with a move to Atleti, whose boss Diego Simeone is keen to strengthen his wide options.

However, the player’s representative Federico Pastorello told La Gazzetta dello Sport he would be staying in Italy after Sky Sports claimed the Spaniards had made a €14m offer for Candreva, who is currently at Euro 2016 with the Italian national team.

“We are working to find an agreement but so far nothing has been completed,” declared Pastorello.

“At the moment it’s impossible to indicate when anything is going to happen. Inter are very interested but they are not the only ones.

“Napoli are also involved in negotiations and Milan are the other team that have also come in for him.”
