Sime Vrsaljko confirms he is close to Atletico Madrid and is waiting on an agreement with Sassuolo. ‘I’m optimistic…’
Vrsaljko is currently with Croatia at Euro 2016 and told a reporter from homeland publication Sportske Novosti that Sassuolo and Atleti are in talks, while AS add the full-back has already agreed a four-year contract on €2m-a-year.
“I can say, at least as far as I know, Atletico and Sassuolo must close the deal. I’m optimistic,” Vrsaljko confirmed, revealing that he had been bound for Napoli.
“I told the club I didn’t want to wear the blue shirt, even though they had reached an agreement.”
AS claim the transfer will be a €15m operation.
