Granada set to appoint Paco

Granada will reportedly appoint Paco Jemez as their new Coach on a two-year contract in the next few days.

According to Marca, Paco was the pick of Granada’s new sporting director Piru, who has followed the Coach’s career closely, to the extent that he watched many of his training sessions at Rayo Vallecano.

The newspaper explains the Andalusians were persuaded by the 46-year-old’s “profile, knowledge, commitment and work in football”, while both parties “agreed on almost everything” in just their first meeting.

Paco, who was previously linked with Deportivo La Coruna and Espanyol, kept Rayo in La Liga for three seasons between 2012 and 2015, culminating in their best-ever top-flight finish, but he was unable to save them from relegation last term.

Granada, on the other hand, did stay up courtesy of Jose Gonzalez, but the club have embarked on a new direction following their recent Chinese takeover.
