Aduriz: Spain a real privilege

Aritz Aduriz admits it is “a real privilege” to represent Spain at Euro 2016, while David de Gea “is perfectly fine”.

Aduriz is one of two out-and-out strikers to be called up for the European Championship, a feat that “thrilled” the Athletic Bilbao veteran at a Press conference, which created some confusion as he was supposed to have been replaced by De Gea, although the goalkeeper did eventually appear.

“We see [De Gea] to be perfectly fine, but we won’t talk about him anymore, that’s the last question,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward [to the Euros]. Until very recently, I didn’t expect [the call-up]. I’m thrilled.

“The national team have players of an incredible level, and to be a forward here is a real privilege.

“It’s an honour to be one of the 11 older players. I hope to show that I deserve to be here.”
