Ronaldo: Too soon for Ballon d’Or

Cristiano Ronaldo is thinking of only Euro 2016 with Portugal, not if winning the Champions League with Real Madrid will return the Ballon d’Or.

Ronaldo has claimed the prize for the world’s best player on three occasions but Lionel Messi is the current holder, Ronaldo finishing as 2015’s runner-up, and he was asked after Portugal thrashed Estonia 7-0 if he felt he was closest to the award.

“It’s too soon to think about that. I wanted to win something important with my club with the Champions League, and now I want to do well in the tournament. I feel good in the national team,” he replied, AS reports.

“The team is training well and the Coach has scheduled good sessions. The Euros will be enjoyable and my teammates are motivated and happy. The group stage will be very important.”
