Bayern: Lewy not joining Madrid

Bayern Munich technical director Michael Reschke has made it clear that Robert Lewandowski will not be joining Real Madrid this summer.

The latest batch of reports had claimed that Bayern would move for Napoli’s former Madrid attacker Gonzalo Higuain as a replacement for the Blancos-bound Lewandowski, but Reschke has followed his CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in ruling out “the best striker in the world” leaving the Allianz Arena.

“I can say with certainty that Lewandowski will play for Bayern Munich next season,” he told Radio CRC.

“His contract expires in three years’ time, he’s the best striker in the world and there’s no chance of him being sold.

“Higuain is among the three or four best strikers in the world, but Lewandowski is the best. There’s no reason to sign another player in his position.”
