Ronaldo: I’ll retire at Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo promises he will stay at Real Madrid beyond the age of 40 and retire at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Portugal forward has spoken to AS while on holiday in Ibiza prior to Euro 2016 and said he can only see his future in the capital.

“I’m super happy to have won La Undecima and now I’m thinking about the Euros. We want to give great joy to Portugal by winning it, which is something the Portuguese people deserve,” Ronaldo said.

“I’m going to retire at Madrid when I’m over 40. I’m very happy here and I work hard to achieve that.”

Ronaldo also praised new Porto Coach Nuno Espirito Santo, formerly of Valencia, saying the ex-goalkeeper is ‘a great Coach [who did] an extraordinary job’ at Mestalla.
