Madrid back for De Gea as Mou fights

Jose Mourinho wants to prevent David De Gea leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer as Florentino Perez returns for the goalkeeper.

AS says Perez feels a ‘moral debt’ to the Spain international after his move to Santiago Bernabeu collapsed in the 2015 summer window, De Gea all-but a Madrid player until it transpired the paperwork wasn’t filed on time.

De Gea later signed a new deal at Old Trafford but contained within was a clause that allows a €50m offer from Los Blancos before June 15. De Gea has allegedly told Madrid he doesn’t want a repeat of last year’s farce and that his future has to be settled before Euro 2016.

Perez is said to see De Gea as the world’s best goalkeeper and wants him between the posts at the Bernabeu for his best years, and De Gea would like to return to Spain if possible, AS pointing out he is having a house built in a Madrid suburb, and he would like to be closer to his family.

United are also out of the Champions League for the coming season and De Gea doesn’t want to miss the major tournaments while he’s at the peak of his powers.

Mourinho will though fight to keep De Gea at United, even if he appears closer to Madrid than Manchester at the moment.
