Atleti ask to play CL final in blue?

Atletico Madrid’s request to play the Champions League final in their blue away kit has been rejected by UEFA, according to AS.

The newspaper claims Atleti wanted to play in navy [pictured] on the grounds of superstition as they had contested seven of their 12 Champions League matches in the away strip, which included the eliminations of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

However, their request has been declined by UEFA, meaning Atleti will all-but-certainly battle Real in their red-and-white home kit, which they also donned in the 4-1 defeat to their arch-rivals two years ago.

AS adds no-one in the Rojiblancos camp has mentioned revenge on Real and are instead set on harnessing positive energy for the match at San Siro, to the extent that they are staying at the same hotel as the one prior to their 1-0 victory over Milan in the 2014 Champions League last 16.
