Espanyol pip Milan clubs to Vilhena?

Espanyol have reportedly beaten Inter and Milan to the signature of Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena, who is available on a free transfer this summer.

Feyenoord announced on Saturday that Vilhena would leave the club once his contract expired on June 30 after negotiations for his renewal ended unsuccessfully.

Consequently, Sport reports Espanyol are keen to include the 21-year-old in their “new sporting project”, to the extent that an agreement in principle has been reached between both parties.

However, the deal is subject to approval from Los Periquitos’ next Coach, with the club’s new Chinese owners expected to replace Constantin Galca.

Inter and Milan had been strongly linked with the Netherlands Under-21 international.
