Bojan ‘won’t dine with Pep or Lucho’

Bojan Krkic made it clear there was no love lost between him and former Coaches Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique as “I wouldn’t go to dinner with them”.

Bojan exploded on the scene at Barcelona as a 18-year-old under Frank Rijkaard in 2007 and scored 12 goals in his debut season, before making his Spain bow a year later, but he endured a difficult time under Guardiola and saw his fortunes fare no better at Roma, then managed by Enrique.

“I wouldn’t go to dinner with them [Pep and Enrique],” the Stoke City attacker told Radio Catalunya.

“I enjoyed [my first game for Barca] a lot, but I lacked awareness. Still, no-one can take it away from me.

“I joined the senior dressing room very young, thinking that all this was a dream, and at 17 I started growing up in a rush.

“I was very innocent and unaware. It’s not easy for a 17-year-old to get to [the first team at] Barcelona.

“The fans would call your name out, you’d score goals and everything was good for you.

“When the dressing room is run by certain individuals and not the collective, it’s not pleasant for anyone.

“[Frank Rijkaard] gave me the opportunity to start my professional career at Barca, the club I loved the most, and with continuity, which is what a young player needs.”
