Pep’s brother to lead Granada?

Pep Guardiola’s brother will reportedly be given ‘carte blanche’ of Granada if the club’s Chinese takeover goes through.

According to Marca, Desports – the sports marketing agency that is in talks to buy Granada from the Pozzo family – plans to install Pere Guardiola as its intermediary at Los Carmenes, thereby ending Quique Pina’s reign as President.

The company, an offshoot of Chinese multinational Wuhan Double, is intent on establishing Granada in La Liga, while Pere is also the agent of Barcelona duo Andres Iniesta and Luis Suarez, among others.

Pere is understood to be in the process of appointing a new Coach, despite Jose Gonzalez currently at the helm, and met former Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli – recently linked with Espanyol and Valencia – last Tuesday.

He is also keen to bring in Juanma Lillo. Pep’s former mentor and Sampaoli’s Chile assistant, as a member of the new Coach’s backroom staff.
