Barca preparing new Lemos bid

Barcelona will return with a new bid for Las Palmas’ Mauricio Lemos and will do so ‘subtlety’ after raising the ire of the Canary Islands outfit.

Mundo Deportivo notes that Las Palmas felt Barca were ‘arrogant’ in their first approach for Lemos, and were unhappy that Barca tried to talk Lemos out of re-signing with his team, though Barca deny acting improperly.

Las Palmas recently signed Lemos on a full-time deal after a loan spell from Rubin Kazan, paying around €2m, and Barca’s first offer was €4m with more to come in bonuses, although the Catalans insist it was higher.

Lemos could be sold for closer to €10m, five times what Las Palmas paid for him, and Barca will return with a renewed offer, though the balance of the deal will still be weighted towards bonuses for trophies won, while Lemos is said to be keen to move to one of La Liga’s bigger clubs.
