Suitors lining up for Camacho

Valencia and Atletico Madrid are joined by Leicester City and Liverpool in holding interest in Malaga’s Ignacio Camacho, who could go for €12m.

Super Deporte notes that Los Che’s interest depends on the budget owner Peter Lim makes available to sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch, and that while Camacho’s contract has a €20m release clause, Malaga sold 45% of his economic rights to an investment firm who might insist on a sale at €12m.

Leicester, Liverpool and Atletico would have no trouble meeting that mark, it’s assumed, but Valencia need to know their budget for the year before they join the auction.

Camacho is expected to leave La Rosaleda although it’s suggested he could wait a year for family reasons, while Malaga could take Valencia’s Javi Fuego as a replacement, though they face competition from Sporting Gijon and Real Betis for the veteran.
