Camacho unsure of Malaga future

Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho has admitted that he “doesn’t know” how his future will pan out over the summer.

Camacho was involved in Malaga’s 4-1 win against Las Palmas on Sunday to ensure the side finished eighth in La Liga, amidst frequent chants of ‘Camacho, stay’ throughout the match and links between the player and the Premier League.

“If I’m honest, I don’t know what will happen,” the midfielder said after the game.

“I don’t know if I’ll have the last word on my way out or if the club have any obligation to accept a certain amount, but I’d like to be the one to decide.

“Regardless of which decision is made, the most important thing is that we all come out of it well.

“I’d give us a 10 for the season because no-one thought we’d end it like we did when we were bottom for months.

“What we’ve achieved summarises the great work of all the players and coaches.

“The fans’ support for us [on Sunday] was a culmination of their efforts throughout the season, especially during the hard times.”
