Four years in prison for Castro?

Ruben Castro could be facing prison time after a prosecutor demanded a four-year sentence for the Real Betis striker, who stands accused of domestic abuse.

According to Marca, Castro is facing charges of abusing his former partner Amparo Diaz Ramos, making mild threats, six counts of violence in his family home and coercive behaviour, allegedly committed between 2012 and 2013.

Consequently, the prosecutor in the case has asked for a year and three months in prison for the striker abusing his ex-partner, three months for making threats, nine months for each of the six counts of habitual violence and four months for coercion, totalling a sentence of four years.

Additionally, the prosecutor has called for a restraining order to prevent the 34-year-old from being within 300 metres of his former partner.

The Court of Seville has already agreed to open the trial, and the prosecutor’s demands will now be sent to a criminal court, where a date for Castro’s hearing is due to be set.
