‘Granada won’t roll over for Barca’

Granada goalkeeper Andres Fernandez has insisted his team will not roll over against Barcelona at Los Carmenes this weekend.

Barca are one point clear of second place Real Madrid at the top of La Liga and a win at Granada will ensure the defending champions retain their title, with Los Blancos away to Deportivo la Coruna at the same time.

El Grana sealed their top-flight status with a win at Sevilla on Sunday and have nothing but pride to play for.

Nonetheless, Fernandez says they will be going all out for the win and will not make it easy for Luis Enrique´s men.

“We´ll prepare for the match against Barca normally and will treat it as a party,” the on-loan Porto stopper told Cadena COPE.

“We´ll be out to enjoy ourselves and what will happen will happen, as there is no pressure on us, and a home win in front of our fans will be the best way to end the season.

“But if I was a Barca player I´d say the opponent doesn´t matter as I´d be thinking we can beat anyone, but we won´t lie down against them.”

Fernandez admits the Granada squad is divided on who they want to pick up the title.

“Barca´s slump didn´t last long and it will be very difficult for us because they are at an incredible level.

“Within our squad there are supporters of both teams: Barca and Madrid. It´s evenly balanced.”
