Leicester chasing Depor ace

Premier League champions Leicester City hope to begin their summer transfer activity by signing Lucas Perez from Deportivo la Coruna.

Boss Claudio Ranieri wants to build on this season´s success by providing support for Jamie Vardy up front and, according to the Guardian, sees Perez as the perfect foil for his main striker.

Lucas signed a permanent deal with Depor before the start of this season after a successful loan spell from Greek outfit PAOK, having previously represented Atletico Madrid C, Rayo Vallecano and Karpaty Lviv.

Despite being born in Coruna, this was his first full season with his hometown club and has proved his most successful to date. The winger has notched 17 League goals out of his team´s total of 45 and equalled a club record by emulating Bebeto´s achievement of scoring in seven successive games for the Galicians.

In addition to Lucas, Ranieri expects to bring in another player from La Primera and has reportedly held advanced talks to bring Sporting Gijon central defender Luis Hernandez to the King Power Stadium.
