Cheryshev out for four months

Valencia winger Denis Cheryshev, on loan from Real Madrid, is facing four months on the sidelines and will miss Euro 2016.

The Russia international went down with tendonitis and AS reports Madrid, his parent club, made the call that he should have the problem operated on.

Cheryshev’s operation will be on May 17 and he will need four months to recover, it’s estimated, which means he won’t be able to compete for his country this summer, and is likely to miss the start of next season as well.

Valencia are though keen to keep Cheryshev despite his injury, but Madrid have yet to decide what they want for the winger, who is out of contract in the summer of 2017. Villarreal are also said to be interested.
