Barca in Ben Arfa talks?

Reports in France claim Barcelona representatives met with Nice forward Hatem Ben Arfa over a move to Camp Nou.

Ben Arfa, formerly of Hull City and Newcastle, is said to be the chosen option to act as back-up to Luis Enrique’s trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar after a season in which, to date, he has scored 17 goals.

The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer after signing for Nice on a short-term deal last year, having gone six months without playing after leaving Hull, when he wasn’t allowed to turn out for Nice as he had played competitive games for two clubs before signing for the Ligue 1 side.

Sport cites L’Equipe as claiming that there was a meeting between the parties last week in Barcelona and negotiations are on track.

Barca had been linked to Ben Arfa’s compatriots Alexandre Lacazette, at Lyon, and Sevilla’s Kevin Gameiro, but Ben Arfa is reportedly the chosen signing.
