Zizou: Semi exit a failure

Zinedine Zidane admits it would be a ‘failure’ if Real Madrid failed to reach the Champions League Final.

Los Blancos are level at 0-0 with Manchester City after the first leg and prior to the return, at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, Zidane was asked what bowing out now would mean to the club.

“It’d be a failure. We’re in good form and we want to go through. It’s a very difficult game and if we don’t go through it’s a failure, because that’s what we want,” he replied, AS reports.

“It will be more difficult than the first leg, because everything will be decided. We’re conscious of that. We will respect the opponent, because they have very good players, especially in attack.

“It won’t be the same as the return leg against Wolfsburg. We can’t score two or three goals in 15 minutes. That doesn’t exist. We’re going to suffer from minute one to minute 90. It’ll be a game to work hard.

“Hopefully the 90 minutes is like the second half [of the first leg], and score a goal, which is most important. We have to play football, to press in attack and put in the intensity of a semi-final. They’re also playing to go through.”
