Thiago Silva ‘wants Barca’

Thiago Silva wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain for Barcelona, reports claim, but the Catalans aren’t as keen as they used to be.

Mundo Deportivo claims the Brazil international is eager to quit the Ligue 1 champions because he wants a genuine chance of winning the Champions League, and doesn’t feel he has that in the French capital.

It’s noted that Silva rejected Barca when leaving Milan for PSG in 2012, having been wanted by Tito Vilanova to partner Gerard Pique.

Barca are in the market for a central defender but negotiating with PSG for one of their most important players is not expected to be an easy task for technical secretary Robert Fernandez.

Silva, for that reason, is not considered a target by Barca unless he forces his way out of his current club, but there is a fear that should Barca swoop for the 31-year-old, PSG will respond with a raid of their own on Camp Nou.
