Hart: City ready for return

Joe Hart insists Manchester City are ready for a ‘rumble’ at Santiago Bernabeu after he prevented Real Madrid leading the semi-final first leg.

The England international produced three saves from Madrid corners to see the Champions League tie end goalless at the Etihad Stadium, and Hart is already pumped up for the return, and was asked if his stop from Pepe could he decisive.

“I hope so, it’s always the case in first legs. We’re not disappointed, like [Vincent Kompany] says, we’ve set it up for a good old fashioned rumble in the Bernabeu and we’re going to be ready for it,” he told BT Sport post-match.

“We’re ready. The way we set up, the way we work, we’ve got a brilliant squad that’s finally coming to fruition. The majority are fit now, in fact everyone is fit. We’re going to be ready, we’ve got an important game against Southampton on Sunday that we turn our focus to and then Wednesday night, it’s going to be a big game.”
