Esnaider hopeful of ‘turning point’

Juan Esnaider is hopeful that Getafe’s 2-1 win at Real Sociedad in La Liga on Thursday proves “a turning point” in the club’s season.

El Geta came back from behind to win their first game since mid-January, a result that also lifted them off the bottom of the table and to within two points of safety, and Esnaider admits his side’s fate would have been sealed, had they lost.

“We hope this result is a turning point because I still believe this team have time,” the Coach said after the game.

“It was important from an emotional perspective because there wasn’t another chance [to stay up after this].

“The players understood that everything had to be left on the pitch.

“It remains very difficult but if we play our remaining games as committed as we did [on Thursday], we’ll have possibilities and we’ll fight.”
