Berizzo eyeing Europa League

Eduardo Berizzo wants Celta Vigo to take a step towards the Europa League with a victory at Espanyol.

Celta go to Cornella-El Prat in sixth place and the Coach told a pre-match Press conference that he expects the season’s final five games to wrap up European qualification.

“There are five rounds until the end of La Liga. On Tuesday we can take a historic step to the Europa League,” Berizzo said, AS reports.

“Our trajectory in La Liga has great merit and has become second nature, we’re used to winning.

“The important thing now is to add points, either three or one. Now, what before was an insufficient point, becomes substantial. Getting used to winning is a very good thing for a team because it means power, but it’s also bad because it fails to recognise the great season the players have had.

“We’ve said having more players in attack doesn’t mean you attack better. Playing well is our best way to win. Hopefully [at Espanyol], a pitch we’ve historically not done well, we’ll play a good game.”
