Galca ‘not thinking of the sack’

Espanyol Coach Constantin Galca insists he isn’t thinking of his future ahead of Tuesday’s visit of Celta Vigo.

Los Periquitos go into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at Levante and the trainer was asked at a pre-match Press conference if his future rests on getting a result.

“That’s not a question for me, you have to talk to the directors. I will fight until the last day and for the club. I will be professional and not think about it,” he said, AS reports.

“We didn’t play a good game against Levante. We thought we could win but there are games were you don’t play well and you can’t reach the objective. Let’s see what happens [against Celta].”

Galca advised his team to use Celta’s game plan against them but more than anything wants a stronger mind-set among the players.

“Celta are a good team. They’re daring in possession but they also leave spaces, so let’s take advantage of that,” he continued.

“Our mentality has to change. They have to fight for something more and take as much as possible from each game. We can’t expect to be in a critical situation, currently we’re not, but how we lost to Levante is a problem. I’m convinced we’ll go out well and win.”
