Emery: Sevilla still dreaming

Unai Emery insists Sevilla “will dream for the remainder of the season”, despite more dropped points in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Deportivo La Coruna.

Sevilla extended their winless run in the League to four games as Oriol Riera’s late equaliser cancelled out Vicente Iborra’s earlier effort, leaving them five points adrift of fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao, but Emery took solace from his side “still competing on three fronts”.

“We had chances in the first half and scored a goal,” the Coach said after the game.

“In the second half, we knew we could suffer if our intention became protecting what we had. We needed the second goal.

“The draw penalises us, but we’re still competing on three fronts.

“We always want to fight while looking up the table. We want fifth place and it’s still achievable.

“We’ll dream for the remainder of the season and manage everything well, avoiding injuries and preserving our strength.

“I insist we worked well [against Deportivo] and only lacked success [in our finishing].”
