‘Villarreal prepared to suffer’

Marcelino says Villarreal are ‘prepared to suffer’ to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The Yellow Submarine lead Sparta Prague 2-1 from the first leg but the Coach warned that there’s no guarantee of going through as they travel to the Czech Republic.

“We have a slight advantage in the tie but there’s nothing definitive. We don’t believe we’re in the next round. We’re prepared to suffer to get there,” he told a Press conference, AS reports.

“It would be wrong to think we were far superior in the first leg. The best way to think is that we only won 2-1 and it will be very difficult here.

“We have to look for a goal because a goal would give us great encouragement. If we succeed, our opponent would need to score three goals, which can happen, but has happened very rarely this season.

“We have to be aggressive, determined and decisive to try and score a goal. I’m sure it will cost a lot. We were better at El Madrigal but we could only win by the minimum.”
