Valencia to raid Celta?

Celta Vigo could be the victims of Valencia’s summer rebuild as Eduardo Berizzo and three players are linked to Mestalla.

AS reports Los Che want Berizzo as Coach and Gustavo Cabral, Pablo Hernandez and Fabian Orellana with him as owner Peter Lim overhauls the club.

Valencia are said to be in love with the style of play Berizzo has brought to Balaidos and the trainer is understood to be aware of the interest.

Celta are hoping to tie down Berizzo to a longer-term deal with a significant pay raise but Berizzo himself has said that hasn’t been finalised yet.

The players have all been approached too, the report claims, and Cabral is the most straightforward signing as his contract expires at the end of the season.

He also knows the city of Valencia as he was at Levante last season, and is looking at his last chance to sign a lucrative deal, Celta having come up short when talking to the player about renewing.

It’s estimated Valencia would have to pay out €18m to take Berizzo, Cabral, Hernandez and Orellana in total, as Berizzo and Cabral could walk away out of contract.

Hernandez has a €3m release clause, though Celta want to review that, while Orellana is available for €15m, and has been made a priority.
