Victor: Depor had no desire

Victor Sanchez was disappointed Deportivo La Coruna couldn’t seal safety at home to Las Palmas, losing 3-1 despite taking the lead.

Lucas Perez opened the scoring early in the second half but the island outfit hit back, Victor complaining of his side’s lack of urgency.

“The first half was one to forget. It seemed there was no desire. We spoke at half time to find more intensity,” he said, AS reports.

“We pressed in the second half, we took the lead but we didn’t compete well enough to win the match.”

Depor are nine points clear of the bottom three with six games to go and Victor was unhappy a chance to move three points further away was missed.

“There are six days remaining, 18 points at stake and we can’t look beyond the immediate game,” he said.

“There’s a good advantage over the relegation places and we’ll continue working to increase it until the objective is closer.

“We had the chance to almost decide it in this match but we haven’t been capable of doing so.”
