Getafe have sacked Fran Escriba as Coach after less than a season in charge and a run of 12 games without a win.
El Geta pulled the plug on the Coach following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Villarreal, which left the club 18th in La Liga and two points adrift of safety, with only six games remaining.
Elche’s demotion to La Segunda for non-footballing reasons prompted Escriba to sign a three-year contract with Getafe last summer, and he guided the Madrid minnows to as high as 10th at the beginning of 2016.
However, the 50-year-old’s last victory would come in mid-January as Los Azulones picked up two points from a possible 36 in their final nine matches under his tutelage.
No word has been made on the identity of Escriba’s successor as yet.
